The F355 (Type F129) was manufactured by Ferrari from May 1994 until 1999. The car was a heavily revised Ferrari 348 with notable exterior and performance changes.
Design emphasis for the F355 was placed on significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments (such as low-speed city traffic).
Apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 L to 3.5 L, the major difference between the V8 engine in the 348 and the F355 was the introduction of a 5-valve cylinder head. This new design resulted in an engine that was considerably more powerful than its predecessor, generating a maximum power output 380 PS at 8,250 rpm.
In naming the F355, Ferrari used engine capacity followed by the number of valves per cylinder (355 = 3.5 litre and 5 valves) to bring the performance advances introduced by a 5-valve per cylinder configuration to the forefront.
The Berlinetta (coupe) was introduced in May 1994 as the first in a successful series of F355 models. Initially, the 6-speed manual was the only transmission available. The F1-type automated manual gearbox followed later in 1997.
Ferrari produced 4,871 road-going Berlinetta models during the entire production run, of which 3,829 were equipped with the 6-speed manual and 1,042 with the F1 transmission.
This particular F355 was manufactured and delivered to the Ferrari importer in Hong Kong, Italian Motors (Sales & Service), in 1995. The first owner took delivery in November of that year. It changed hands just two other times before the current owner (no. 4) purchased this F355 in 2021. The car currently shows just 39,000 km and is finished in traditional Ferrari Rosso Corsa with a Beige leather interior and comes complete with its Ferrari Classiche certification folder.
